CEMA/CECA
Conference - 2007
The Connecticut Educational Media Association (CEMA) and the
Connecticut Educators' Computer Association (CECA)
teamed up to create the first New England regional conference for technology
educators. The conference was held at the Connecticut
Convention Center in downtown Hartford on October 23, 2007.
The keynote speaker was forensic scientist, Dr. Henry Lee.
His keynote address was on the importance
of educating independent thinkers, inquiry-based learning and complex problem
solving.
For more information from the conference (pictures, handouts, etc.):
- The registration fee for the joint CEMA-CECA
Conference includes 07-08 membership in CECA and 07-08 membership in
CEMA.
- The decision was made by the joint conference committee to extend
memberships instead of providing a $40 refund for those who already
have a 07-08 membership. We have members paid until June 2008 and June
2009.
- If your CEMA membership is paid through 2008, your Joint Conference
Registration will extend your membership to June 2009.
- If your CEMA membership
is paid through 2009, your Joint Conference Registration will extend
your membership to June 2010.
- If this policy creates a problem, e-mail
Janet Roche and your problem will be addressed on an individual basis.
- If
your membership expires in June, 2007, and you are not going to conference,
you can renew anytime between June and conference.
- If you are not sure
whether or not you are going to conference, wait until you know and
then renew if you are not going.
- This year’s conference registration
does not include a discount for members.
- The CEMA Board will decide
whether to continue having membership part of conference registration
and whether to continue having multi-year membership.
